Who writes these
Karim Diabate builds PlantRx. These guides are compiled from published horticultural sources and from what the app's diagnosis engine actually returns, and each one says where its reasoning stops.
No page here carries a "reviewed by" line, because adding a name to imply a review that did not happen would be the easiest change on this list and the only genuinely dishonest one. Where each guide stops being reliable is set out on the methodology page.
What PlantRx is
PlantRx is an iPhone app, published by Yiriba LLC. You photograph the part of a plant that looks wrong and it returns the likely causes in order, with the visual evidence behind each one and a treatment plan. The first diagnosis is free, in full. There is no subscription and no account.
The guides on this site are written the same way the app answers: never a single confident verdict, always a ranked differential with what would separate one cause from another. The methodology page explains how they are built and, more usefully, where they stop being reliable.
Where the facts come from
The general horticultural claims on a guide are drawn from published university cooperative extension services and the Royal Horticultural Society, and each guide links the ones it leans on at the foot of the page. What is specific to a plant, and the order the causes are ranked in, is written here, from those sources and from what the app's diagnosis engine actually returns.
What we will not tell you
We never tell you whether a plant is safe to eat or touch, and we never tell you a plant is safe for a child or a pet. If a child or an animal may have eaten any part of a plant, contact Poison Control (US 1-800-222-1222) or a vet immediately rather than reading further.
Treatment guidance stays at the level of the category. We do not give product names, mixing ratios or application intervals. Whatever the label on the product in your hand says is the instruction that counts, and following it is your responsibility.
Tell us when a page is wrong
If something here is wrong, out of date, or contradicts what your own plant is doing, write to support@yiriba.com and say which page. Corrections get made and the page records the date it changed. The support page covers questions about the app itself.
